The U.S. government has announced new tariffs, including a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada and a 10% tariff on goods from China. Additionally, tariffs on steel and aluminum will take effect on March 4, 2025.
While the 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican products has been delayed, the 10% tariff on Chinese goods is already in effect. Independent Mechanical Supply is closely monitoring the situation and preparing a response plan should Canada impose counter-tariffs.
Our team is actively working to minimize the impact of these tariffs by optimizing our supply chains and collaborating with our supply partners. Many of our partners have expanded their manufacturing operations across multiple countries, allowing them to adapt to changes in trade regulations.
However, these tariffs—combined with the sharp devaluation of the Canadian dollar—may lead to necessary pricing adjustments to offset rising material costs. To help mitigate the impact, we will work with you to identify alternative products within our current inventory that may serve as substitutes for tariff-affected items.
As this situation evolves, our approach to pricing adjustments will also adapt to reflect ongoing tariff changes. These adjustments are essential to maintaining the quality, reliability, and value you expect from us.
We appreciate your understanding and continued partnership as we navigate these challenges together.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss how these changes may affect your orders, please reach out to your local sales representative. Thank you for your business and trust in Independent Mechanical Supply—we look forward to continuing to serve you.
